Walking Dead Movie?

Bloody Disgusting and io9 report that AMC may be considering adapting their already wildly popular show into a feature film. This is all just hearsay at that moment; it does however raise an interesting question: with only two or so hours to spare, could AMC muster the wherewithal to cut out the needlessly slow and painful character “development”, and  replace it  with one hundred twenty minutes of incredible zombie conflict?  Who knows?  Frankly, I think TWD already exists in its perfect medium (comic book), and cannot be improved upon. If AMC wishes to generate a movie, it should be a spinoff with new characters, or a prequel of some kind. Not that prequels aren’t without pitfalls either.
